Shrink the bill – Keep the windows open during the day and let the natural light pour in. Sunlight is not just free of cost, it is also good for your bones as it provides vitamin D. Follow the basic and switch off the lights while leaving the room or your house. Do not keep devices on standby mode as it consumes energy. Eventually, you will end up with a small electricity bill and less carbon emission from you.
Take the bucket challenge everyday – The amount of water wasted while taking shower can be easily avoided if we use a bucket . In a country where almost 50 percent of the people does not even have access to clean drinking water, you can do a lot by conserving the precious water.
‘Raddiwala calling’ – All garbage is not garbage. U.S has established $90 billion worth industry by recycling what we throw. As per a study 80 percent of the garbage we produce can be recycled and reused. For easy disposal, it is highly recommended that we separate wet and dry garbage. In return, we can earn a little by selling old books, magazines, water bottles etc to the “Raddiwala”.
Journey together is both fun and safe for you and the planet – Less vehicles on the road means less carbon monoxide in the air. CO is a toxic gas which is continuously hampering the “Ozone layer” and causing many respiratory diseases. Use public transport for daily travel and for small distance you can use a bicycle.
Plant the Oxygen devices – Where there are lifeless concrete buildings right now, there once stood a heap of life giving trees. Planting a tree does not require a lot of time. You can take out 30 minutes from your weekend and do this once a month.
