#AirIndia to go #AllWomenCabinCrew on March 8th – India’s national carrier, Air India is celebrating International Women’s Day this year in a unique way. On March 8, Air India has decided to send 22 flights into the skies with all women crews. This is one of its kind initiative taken by the national carrier to celebrate the day. Air India has 3,765 women employees, including women pilots, cabin crew engineers, technicians, security personnel.
One-stop-crisis-centres for #womenindistress on March 8th – In an effort to help women in distress, The Women and Child Development Ministry has decided to launch three one stop crisis centres on International Women’s Day on March 8. Afterwards, taking forward the cause, five or six one-stop crisis centres will be launched every month to help women victims of violence. The centres will extend medical help, counselling, legal and police assistance to women in distress, while ensuring anonymity of the victim.
Voice of #WomenMPs to echo in #Parliament on March 8th – Prime Minister Narendra Modi has proposed that only women parliamentarians should speak in Parliament on March 8 to mark the International Women’s Day. There are 62 women MPs in Lok Sabha today, constituting over 11 per cent of the House strength. It is the highest ever representation of women in the Lower House; the lowest was in 1977 with just 19 MPs or 3.5 per cent of the House strength.
Tata Housing partners with SBI for #Women’sDay offer for March 8th – Real estate developer Tata Housing has partnered with State Bank of India, on the occasion of the International Women’s Day. Tata Housing will allow its women customers to pay only 20% of the agreement value while the balance can be paid on taking possession of the property. On its part, SBI will be offering home loans to its women customers at a special interest rate of 9.5% per annum under the SBI Her Ghar scheme as part of the International Women’s Day, which will be celebrated between March 8 and March 13.
