    Maharashtra experienced the region’s worst drought in 40 years of which Jalna, Jalgaon and Dhule were badly hit and were also affected by the famine. After two years of low rainfall in the region, millions of people in Maharashtra are at serious risk of hunger.

  1. Uttarakhand Flood 2013

On June 2013, Uttarakhand received unprecedented rainfall resulting in massive landslides and powerful flashfloods that swept away houses and structures. Taking the valley by surprise, more than 5000 lost  their lives, making it the deadliest floods in the history of India.

  1. Kashmir Flood 2014

Several thousand villages across the state were hit and 390 villages completely submerged when Jammu and Kashmir was submerged in flood water, the worst in its history. In actual figures, 2600 villages were reported to be affected in Jammu and Kashmir, out of which 390 villages in Kashmir were completely under water while 1225 villages were partially affected.
